After recently relocating to the UK from Hong Kong, I saw it as an opportunity to start fresh and embark on a new career path in a new place. Having worked as a creative producer in the television production industry for over 15 years, I developed a strong foundation in project management, problem-solving, and communication skills. However, with the move, I wanted to explore new opportunities and industries that would allow me to leverage my existing skills while embracing the exciting possibilities offered by the UK job market. During my research and exploration, I noticed the ever-growing demand for skilled IT professionals in the UK. The IT industry, with its constant innovation and evolving nature, captured my interest. Recognizing the vast potential for career growth and the numerous job opportunities available, I made the decision to pursue an IT Career Switch Traineeship. This traineeship presents a unique chance for me to gain the technical expertise required in the IT field while building upon my existing skills. The structured program offered by the traineeship will provide me with hands-on experience, industry-standard certifications, and a solid foundation in IT support or related roles. Moreover, starting a new career in a new place allows me to broaden my professional network and learn from industry professionals in the UK. I am eager to immerse myself in the local IT community, attend industry events, and connect with like-minded individuals who share my passion for technology. The IT Career Switch Traineeship not only aligns with my interest in technology but also offers a supportive learning environment where I can grow and develop my skills. It presents an exciting opportunity to combine my previous experience in project management and production with the technical knowledge gained during the traineeship.

One aspect of the IT Career Switch Traineeship that I truly enjoyed was the ability to study IT from the comfort of my own home. The flexibility of remote learning allowed me to manage my time effectively and tailor my study schedule to fit my needs. Studying IT at home provided a convenient and conducive environment for focused learning. I could create a personalized study space where I felt comfortable and motivated to dive deep into the coursework and training materials. Being able to study in a familiar setting eliminated the need for commuting and allowed me to optimize my study time. Another aspect that I appreciated about studying IT at home was the access to a wealth of online resources and learning platforms. The traineeship provided comprehensive online materials, video tutorials, and interactive modules that facilitated self-paced learning. I could revisit concepts, review lectures, and access additional resources whenever needed, enhancing my understanding and retention of the subject matter.

As a service desk analyst at nGeneration, my current role revolves around providing efficient and effective technical support to our clients and end-users. I am responsible for addressing IT-related issues and inquiries, ensuring timely resolution, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
