Why did you start the traineeship?

I started the Traineeship to make a deliberate career change into health and safety. In my previous role, I took on the responsibility of Fire Marshal, where I identified and resolved several safety issues. That experience sparked a genuine passion for health and safety and made me realise this was a field I wanted to build a career in. I then chose IT Career Switch to support and guide me through that transition.

What did you enjoy most?

What I enjoyed most was the depth and breadth of the content. Learning about health and safety legislation and how it applies in real-world situations was particularly engaging and gave me a strong foundation of knowledge.

What's your current role like?

My current role in health and safety is extremely varied, with no two days the same. I’m really enjoying being able to apply what I learned during the Traineeship in a practical setting and seeing the impact it has in the workplace.
