Sadendra Thapa moved into Junior IT Helpdesk Technician

After nearly 10 years in hospitality, I decided to pursue a long-standing interest in IT – specifically cybersecurity. The industry’s rapid growth and critical importance drew me in. While researching how to break into the field, I discovered IT Career Switch’s Cyber Security Traineeship. I’m currently working as a Junior IT Helpdesk Technician, supporting the IT infrastructure of over 19 clients, mainly in the engineering and architectural industries. These sectors rely on high-performance systems and specialised software, making reliable IT support essential. My role involves everything from routine tasks like password resets to more complex work such as setting up new systems and configuring networks. Working in a fast-paced, multi-client environment has sharpened my technical and problem-solving skills while giving me valuable hands-on experience across a wide range of technologies.
