Priyan Shah moved into Associate Technical Support Engineer

I started the Traineeship because I wanted a change in career, and I’ve always had a passion for IT and have always been excited about technology. I feel starting a career in the field of IT, will be very beneficial for me as well as being presented with some new interesting opportunities and challenges.

A particular aspect of the Traineeship that I enjoyed and felt was quite nice, was the opportunity to complete the courses from the comfort of my own home and at a pace that suited me. The high degree of flexibility offered allowed me to tailor my study schedule to fit my needs. The Traineeship helped me grow, develop and enhance my IT skills which provided me with a great solid foundation in the IT world as well as exploring aspects in a bit more detail. The course content, access to a wide range of different resources and practical labs were all very useful and having a chance to complete the lab work gave a great insight of first-hand experience in a number of areas which were great to get to know and learn.

As an Associate Technical Support Engineer at Advanced, my role effectively involves supporting and setting up new joiners to the company and helping to provide their induction. It is aimed at ensuring the correct access, software and hardware requirements are done before they join the company. I also help with user requests sent to us from our ticketing system, such as sending out monitors to users for the working-from-home set-up and carrying out laptop replacements. These are all done while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction and in a timely manner, ensuring the resolution is to the user’s preference. I look forward to learning much more as I progress further in the field, which will benefit me greatly for a career in Cyber Security.
