Why did you start the Cyber Security Traineeship?

I started my traineeship because I wanted to transfer my years of troubleshooting my home/family computers into a profession and the career path shown by ITCareerSwitch going from Sys Admin to CyberSec Engineer was exactly what I was looking for.

What did you enjoy most?

In two and a half years, I have advanced from an IT Technician to a System Administrator and, presently, to a Cybersecurity Engineer. Throughout this period, I kept learning various defence and attack techniques, all while completing the IT CareerSwitch course. As anticipated, these projects served as compelling showcases of my skills during the Cybersecurity Engineer job interviews

What's your current role like?

I enjoy learning how things work and finding the root cause of issues, as a CyberSec Engineer this is a great skill to have I found out. It is also part of my job to monitor security alerts, provide security feedback, revise application policies, requests for software, impact assessments and many other tasks…, The job is never the same and there is always something new to learn which is actually what I love the most.
