Why did you start the traineeship?

After being in the kitchen design industry for over 6 years I was looking for a more stable career path with a better work life balance. I have always been interested in IT and after getting some advice from a family member that works in IT I looked into getting my IT certificates and IT Career switch looked like the best fit for me to do that.

What did you enjoy most?

I enjoyed the flexibility the online videos allowed as this enabled me to study around my existing job and other commitments. I also enjoyed the access to the online labs where I was able to test my new-found skills out without having to own the equipment myself. I also found the advice and support given during the job hunting phase to be helpful and insightful.

What's your current role like?

I now work as a 1st line support engineer for a School trust which involves me supporting a variety of staff hands-on in a range of Schools. I really enjoy thinking on my feet to be able to fix issues for users quickly and how appreciative they are that their issue has been resolved in a professional manner so that they can continue with their workflow
