Why did you start the Coding Traineeship?

After 7 years as a salesperson in the travel industry, I was looking for a new challenge. I started my own travel company just as Covid hit so it was back to the drawing board! That travel company, my friend from university made my travel website for me and I was fascinated at how he could do it. I started looking into it and enjoyed it so I bit the bullet and signed up for this course.

What did you enjoy most?

The portfolio projects. For me, nothing beats actually building things. You learn the most, there are the most pain points, there’s the most problem solving and it’s the most satisfying.

What's your current role like?

I’ve only been in my new role for a month and a bit. They are really supportive and they’re allowing me the time to get up to scratch to do things professionally. I’ve been learning SASS and its way of doing things. I consider myself very lucky to have started with a company that is willing to take me on and give me the time to get up to speed. The next step is to brush up on my PHP and WordPress and then we’ll work towards getting me started on doing work for clients.
