Why did you start the Cyber Security Traineeship?

I needed a change from being in retail since I was 16, and I knew IT had many more areas that I could go into. I have always been interested in IT and tech, I love to problem solve, and it brings me joy when I can solve one! There is a vast amount of things to learn, and it changes constantly, which keeps me on my toes. Retail can get stagnant when you’re in it for a while, things just feel the same year after year.

What did you enjoy most?

I enjoyed the videos, and I’m quite a visual learner, so it was easier to take in than just endless amounts of text. The live labs were really good, and I wish there were more for me to do as I enjoyed putting what I’ve learnt into practice.

What's your current role like?

I’m a 1st Line Analyst at Pets at Home. It’s a company I’ve wanted to be a part of for years, and when the opportunity came up, I grabbed it. The role is amazing, and I have a great, supportive team around me. No question is a stupid one, and there is always someone around to help. The support office is amazing, and we can bring dogs in, which means it’s never a dull day!
