Why did you start the traineeship?
After teaching for many years, I realised that I needed a change and some new challenge. I have always been interested in IT and discovered IT Career Switch. The way their training was carried out fit perfectly with my demand. I wanted flexibility and enough time to complete the training, which they offer. Also, the fact that they would be involved in helping me secure a position was very important for me.
What did you enjoy most?
The program, from my point of view, is very well designed to give us a strong foundation in multiple aspects of IT: general troubleshooting and understanding via CompTIA training, security, networking, including CISCO and an approach to Microsoft products used in an enterprise environment. I enjoyed most of IT, especially networking and CISCO. Patrick, my tutor, was always there if I needed help. Once I was certified, IT Career Switch really helped in searching for a job. I really want to thank Kati, who has been exceptional in targeting positions fitting my profile, helping with the interview and more.
What's your current role like?
I am working as an IT Support Analyst in a company that has stores in different European countries. I am multitasking, which I love. I regularly have to deal with common issues such as login, email and printing issues and much more, but also need to solve problems linked to the software the company uses. The team I work with is very supportive, and I learn a lot every day, allowing me to be more and more operational. I can see there is a possibility to evolve and the company encourage us to keep learning and following some courses. In summary, I am really excited about the journey I have just started.
