Why did you start the traineeship?

I started the IT Technician traineeship to build a strong foundation in IT, gain practical experience, and earn certifications like the CompTIA A+ to enhance my technical knowledge and skills. It was an excellent stepping stone for transitioning into a career in IT support and troubleshooting, aligning with my passion for problem-solving and technology.

What did you enjoy most?

I enjoyed the hands-on learning experience, especially troubleshooting hardware and software issues, which allowed me to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios. Collaborating with peers and participating in projects also helped me develop teamwork and communication skills crucial for IT roles.

What's your current role like?

As an IT Service Desk Engineer at Sage Homes, my role involves providing technical support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and managing tickets efficiently. I also contribute to maintaining IT systems and ensuring smooth operations across the organization. The role offers a dynamic environment where I can continuously improve my skills and knowledge while making a tangible impact on the team’s success.
