Why did you start the IT Technician Traineeship?

During the pandemic, I started to decide which career goal I should be doing after doing 4 years of being a Quality Assurance Administrator alongside bookkeeping. I have always been interested in IT and wanted to give it a try. During my research, I came across IT Career Switch which offered training that matches the areas that I would like to learn more about and explore areas that I have never seen before. It comes with the official certification which enhances my learning and opens my new career path.

What did you enjoy most?

I enjoyed the flexibility of the course. You can do this at your own time within 12 months. There are plenty of videos and you can replay them as much as you want without having to keep writing down notes. There is the practical experience which is using Home Labs. It really helped me understand how this course relates to this and I can practice using Home Labs as much as I want

What's your current role like?

Currently working as a Junior IT Desktop Support for Zonal. I really enjoy helping out other colleagues within the business to help with their IT technology needs. Such as understanding why their software or hardware is not working or being able to demonstrate how to use equipment such as printers. At the moment, I am still learning different areas of the business however I am delighted with all the help and support I get from my team.
