Elliott Heath moved into 1st Line Support Analyst

I wanted to gain some more IT skills so I would be able to transition into an IT role. I had previously done IT at school however that was around seven years ago so I have forgotten a lot of things. By doing the traineeship I was able to refresh my knowledge while gaining new skills and a certification that would allow me to work in the industry.

I enjoyed expanding my knowledge on some topics I already knew about the most. It was interesting to dive more into specific subjects I am interested in such as networking and security and learn more about the topics I like. This helped me gain an understanding of what I might want to do in the future once I get some more experience in the industry.

My current role is what I hoped to get, not too basic but not too difficult either. I get to use most of the things I learnt about from the A+ section of the course such as Active Directory and Group Policy as well as carrying out day-to-day maintenance of PCs and Laptops while learning some more specific things that weren’t covered such as SQL and Microsoft 365. Overall I would say the course covered everything I am doing in my job very well.
