Brandon Orriss's journey
Why did you start the traineeship?
After leaving university I felt lost as I didn’t want to pursue my degree anymore. I was always interested in IT but never thought about pursuing a career in it. I found IT Career Switch and the path seemed so simple to follow that it was a no brainer to get me into a job.
What did you enjoy most?
I enjoyed having all of the courses available for me to start straight away, so that I could complete the course as fast as I wanted. I also enjoyed the livelabs stage as this gave me a real understanding of what a role might look like for me in the future.
What's your current role like?
I am currently working as an IT Support Technician and thoroughly enjoying it. I like being able to learn new skills everyday and further develop my career. The problem-solving aspect of my job really keeps me interested and wanting to do more for the first time in any job.
