Why did you start the traineeship?
I chose the Cybersecurity Traineeship because I found the whole program complex enough to cover a wide range of topics that I was interested in. I also really liked the idea of the job guarantee, and of course it’s a big scary jump to change from a decade of doing something, to something completely different, but with this programme I could do it with ease.
What did you enjoy most?
I loved that each training was delivered by different people. It felt like I was attending university. I really enjoyed the supported learning materials and playful ways of learning and practicing. Probably my favourite though was the labs. Proper hands-on experience.
What's your current role like?
I am very lucky because I have been transparent about my Traineeship with my employer, and I communicated early on that I started it. I have received full support and training in-house and as soon as I’ve qualified, they have given me a chance to grow into my dream IT role and continue to mentor me through the cyber security training also.
