Why did you start the traineeship?

I started the Traineeship because I fancied changing my career to IT where I felt it had more opportunities to progress than my previous field. The Traineeship seemed like a great shoo-in to learn new skills and be supported in my first role in a new field.

What did you enjoy most?

Being able to work in my own time and not being committed to booked classes was handy, so I could work it around my previous job. The videos supplied during the Traineeship were a great supplement to my independent research towards my certification and was valuable in getting detail on particularly challenging topics.

What's your current role like?

It’s busy and challenging, but I’m learning a lot and it feels good to put some of what I’ve learned into use. I feel like I’m creating a good foundation of technical knowledge that will allow me to progress on to specialised roles and prepare me for the next part of my Traineeship (cyber security).
