Why did you start the traineeship?
I have always wanted to get into IT since I was in secondary school. I was told I had to get a degree to break into the field. However, I did not want to spend 3 years and £27k when I could get real hands-on experience. After college, I decided to look for an apprenticeship but It was very difficult to find one as they’re extremely competitive. This is when I found ItCareerSwitch. I would only have to pay a fraction of the price and be guaranteed a job or money back if a job was not found within 15 weeks.
What did you enjoy most?
For me, the icing on the cake is the fact that it’s all self-paced. You can work full-time whilst also completing the traineeship. You are not constricted to following a timetable and you can finish it as fast or as slow as you want.
What's your current role like?
I currently work as a service desk analyst. This is a huge step up for me as I would have never thought it to be possible for me to get such an advanced role with no prior experience. My day-to-day activities consists of; troubleshooting user issue, making sure security regulations are being followed and liaising with 3rd parties to resolve issue.
