Why did you start the traineeship?
Having spent 20 years in Retail Management, I knew I didn’t want to spend the next 30 doing the same thing. Having touched on Health and Safety in several of my roles and enjoyed it, I decided to take the leap and change careers. That is where your Traineeship came into play. The course provided a great opportunity to learn and develop skills for my new career, whilst offering support and guidance on getting a role in my new career.
What did you enjoy most?
I liked the simple structure and great communication from start to finish. I never felt alone, and support was always there if I needed it.
What's your current role like?
I am a Regional Fire, Health and Safety Advisor and is a world away from working in a shop. I work from home or on the road auditing sites and supporting the teams in them. I love the variety of my role as well as effectively being left to manage my own time and workload.
