Why did you start the traineeship?

I started the traineeship with an IT career switch because I was made redundant from my previous job and needed to get better qualified and I chose IT because it’s a solid industry that has seen growth while other industries are failing.

What did you enjoy most?

What I’ve enjoyed most is learning the technical aspects of computers. The things that run in the background that most users arent aware of. Learning to fix things and get them working again when previously I would have had to have bought a new computer or send it in for repairs.

What's your current role like?

In my new role, I get to get out of the office and visit customers on a daily basis and help them with their computer issues. It’s really rewarding when you’re faced with a new issue that you’ve never seen before and have been able to accept the challenge and find a solution for it.
