Why did you start the traineeship?
I’d made the decision to change from a creative career to one in tech and had embarked on lots of self-directed learning and courses, but this was leading to no success with my job applications. So when I saw that IT Career Switch would give me that stamp of approval, a guarantee for finding the job and provide a well rounded education in the fundamentals of programming, I couldn’t resist. Not to mention having much better prices than their competitors!
What did you enjoy most?
I most enjoyed that it wasn’t timetabled. This meant I was able to both move at a speed that suited me whilst still being able to maintain a part-time job whilst on the course.
What's your current role like?
My current role couldn’t be more ideal for me really! I’m at a company that aligns with my values, and I never find myself bored as I get to be involved in everything from front-end, back-end, database management and everything in between.
