Why did you start the traineeship?
My purpose of starting the Cybersecurity Traineeship with IT Career Switch was to equip myself with structured learning that would help me transition into IT from my previous role as a healthcare support worker.
What did you enjoy most?
The courses were very detailed. I wish I could have lifetime access to the series of courses I took to pass my CompTIA A+ at first seating. The course not only equipped me to pass the exam, but I also have good knowledge that makes me well-equipped for an IT Support role. I took courses on hardware and software, networking and cybersecurity, which gave me a very good foundation in operational IT.
What's your current role like?
In my current role as an IT Field Engineer, I daily troubleshoot and deploy hardware devices at different locations. I diagnose and resolve issues involving network, physical and data link layer, hardware and software. I manage device stock and maintain a chain of custody to document device location throughout its lifecycle.
