Nicki Lockerbie moved into Web Design and Marketing

I started the Traineeship because I realised my true passion was Web Development. I had been studying and loving Digital Marketing previously, and it became clear that I wanted to get hands-on with the technical side of creating websites. While I had some initial experience, I was missing crucial skills, especially back-end engineering. I wanted to become a fully proficient, well-rounded developer who could handle the entire process, and this Traineeship was the perfect way to pick up those essential coding skills.

The most enjoyable part of the Traineeship was the process of creating my final portfolio. It was very rewarding to bring together all the applications and projects I had built throughout the course and have a professional showcase of my skills. I also really valued the flexibility of the program. Being able to complete the course alongside my other commitments was a huge benefit, and it allowed me to approach the whole process with enthusiasm and excitement.

My current role is in Web Development and Digital Marketing, and I couldn’t have dreamt of a better fit for me. I am able to utilise all the core coding skills I gained from the Traineeship. I am currently building our company website and working to optimise our online presence. My role also allows me to integrate skills from my previous professional experience. I am extremely grateful and thrilled that the traineeship helped me achieve this role. I really feel like I’ve found my career path.
