Why did you start the IT Technician Traineeship?

A few years ago I was in a place in my life where I didn’t have a clear direction. I’ve always had a passion for tech though. In my spare time, I’d research components for my dream gaming PC, watch tech YouTube channels, and read about the latest developments on forums. When I finally put 2 and 2 together, I immediately signed up for the IT Technician traineeship.

What did you enjoy most?

The traineeship really gave me an opportunity to expand my knowledge. Learning fundamental internet concepts like TCP/IP, then getting the chance to apply them in the practice labs sessions was both fun, and made it easier to learn.

What's your current role like?

My new job is with a small IT company called Nippy Gecko IT. They’re based in London and offer IT support and solutions to local businesses. My day consists of answering queries by phone or online ticket, helping customers with whatever IT related problem they have, often by remotely controlling their computer to figure out what the problem is and fix it quickly.
