Why did you start the traineeship?

I found coding fascinating as I became more interested in the inner workings of lighting and sound desks in the events industry and wanted to understand how it all functioned. When Covid 19 hit and events disappeared, I saw an opportunity to further my understanding and find a career as a developer which led me to IT Career Switch.

What did you enjoy most?

I found the recruitment process incredibly efficient and I really felt that Amber wanted to get me the best role possible, as well as having provided me with a stellar CV! The course has such a breadth of languages and frameworks it makes learning new technologies much more straightforward afterwards!

What's your current role like?

I am a software developer for a small company based in Bristol. I build applications for internet service providers to help automate their processes. The role is full-stack and based around PHP and Laravel with changes being implemented quickly, this makes each workday a challenging yet rewarding experience.
