Why did you start the traineeship?

I started this traineeship because I was in a boat where I didn’t know what career I wanted to do due to dropping out of university. I then come across this traineeship and did some background research about the company and I was blown away by the positive feedback they have gotten from students. It’s also perfect for someone who doesn’t have any IT experience as they start you from the bottom and build your IT knowledge by progressing you from IT support to Cyber security.

What did you enjoy most?

What I enjoyed the most about this traineeship is the practical labs. As well as learning the theoretical side of things. The practice labs allowed me to get more hands-on and get real-life experience. The support was second to none, there was always someone there who was able to answer any questions.

What's your current role like?

I currently work as an IT Technical Support Officer for the Lancashire Council where my main role is to fix issues that have come across staff within the council. I do a mixture of telephony and self-service.
