Why did you start the traineeship?
I have always been interested in coding but never believed that I had what it takes to be a professional and didn’t have the opportunity to go into full-time studies as I needed to work full time. I realised that instead of dreaming of having a development career I needed to take steps to make it happen, and then I found IT Career Switch.
What did you enjoy most?
I enjoyed the practical tasks and structure of the learning, I always looked forward to getting home from work so I could carry on.
What's your current role like?
In my current role as a software developer, I get to continue learning and contribute to real world software used by the UK’s ambulance services. Every day provides a new creative challenge to work on with the support of experienced coders.
