Why did you start the traineeship?

I started this traineeship as it gave me a new opportunity to work within a growing industry doing something I knew I would enjoy, whilst also earning a full-time wage as opposed to an apprenticeship wage.

What did you enjoy most?

The flexibility made the course a lot easier. Some weeks I could get a lot of studying done, and then other weeks perhaps not so much, but felt very little impact as I was able to get enough done in the weeks prior. I found this helped make the experience more enjoyable as I wasn’t having to stick to strict timetables. The tutors also made this course a walk in the park – extremely helpful and overwhelmingly positive, they were always there whenever I had any queries.

What's your current role like?

Currently, I work in first-line IT support – the role is fast-paced with no dull moments. There is never a quiet day; at the end of each day, I always feel I have done my part, been productive, and worked hard. Providing a quick and efficient service can feel very rewarding, especially when the consumer expresses their gratitude.
