Why did you start the traineeship?
I needed to break into Information Technology and the IT career switch traineeship offered the fundamentals necessary to understand the industry as a whole.
What did you enjoy most?
The fact that it was online and self-paced. This was the most manageable way to learn a new industry while I was working full-time. I also appreciate the pathway and guidance that IT Career Switch offers – from study to recruitment to job placement.
What's your current role like?
I am a 1st Line Technical Support Engineer at Dovetail. This is a fantastic MSP and a great introduction to the industry. In my first two weeks, I have managed starters & leavers for clients; enrolled and set up devices; and worked with Microsoft M65 and Google Workspace. I have also learnt new software such as Connect Wise, MDMs and more. My skills and fast learning pace mean I have been placed in a dispatcher role which I am very excited to learn and develop in.
