Jack Adams moved into Trainee IT Technician

After completing my degree in digital film production I was struggling to secure a job within the film industry, most jobs required x amount of years of experience which unfortunately I didn’t have nor could I justify doing unpaid voluntary work. While searching for jobs I came across it career switch traineeship, seen as I have always had an interest in technology and computers after looking into the traineeship more and learning that I could complete all my training online in my spare time and at the end, there was a job guarantee I thought there was nothing to lose so I decided to sign up.

For me, I enjoyed the Livelab portion of the course the most as this allowed you to get a brief hands-on experience working with actual systems and put what you have learned through the training modules to use.

My current role is great, being new to the industry I am learning something every day and there is always a new challenge to overcome. The work environment is great and super friendly, everyone in the office is always willing to help no matter how simple the query or question is. Getting to work within an industry that I have a genuine interest in while working alongside people who feel the same way makes going to work a very enjoyable experience.
