Ionela (Bianca) Duran's journey
Why did you start the traineeship?
I started my traineeship with an IT career switch because I wanted a change in my career to be able to find my dream job and feel like I could make a difference. After working hard for so long I have finally managed to secure my first career in IT as an IT Support Technician and continue to develop myself.
What did you enjoy most?
My favourite subjects were networking and hardware components. Hardware has been from the beginning my favorite because of the exposure I’ve had in my childhood with older systems. Brings me a sense of nostalgia now being able to practice every day.
What's your current role like?
My current role is fantastic because I get to be part of 2 great teams, 2nd line support technicians and my favourite hardware team. I get to exercise my practical skills and software skills, speaking with clients and making sure their tickets are resolved as soon as possible. I also have had the opportunity to speak and shadow the networking team, and hopefully, soon enough I’ll gather enough experience to get involved more often in their troubleshoots.
