Why did you start the traineeship?

I started the cyber security course as I didn’t know what to do after finishing school and I’ve always had an interest in tech and computers, so when I came across IT career switch it looked like a great chance to get my foot in the door to the industry when you really can go all the way to the top.

What did you enjoy most?

My favorite part about this course was definitely obtaining the CompTIA A+. I had no experience going into this and the amount I learned while studying was more than I’d learned in the past 3 years combined. The sense of accomplishment to get on the job guarantee program was one of the best things I’ve ever done.

What's your current role like?

I’m now a technical helpdesk advisor and provide IT support to companies such as Lidl and a few others, I’m learning so much while also focusing on my cyber security studies which are also included, my plan is to get 2 years of experience and security courses are done and move onto become a security consultant, cannot recommend this scheme enough.
