Ciaran Mc Cance moved into Junior Application Support Analyst

I have always been very passionate about technology and was determined to pursue a career in IT. After completing my degree, I struggled to secure any job interviews and felt like I was never going to be able to secure an IT role. During the lockdown, I commenced this Traineeship in the hope that it would be the perfect opportunity to help enhance my IT knowledge even further and stand out more to recruiters.

The overall structure of the Traineeship was fantastic and I enjoyed each stage. The online learning was very informative and enjoyable, especially the live labs as they allow you to challenge yourself with different troubleshooting scenarios which will benefit you in any IT role. What stood out for me the most was the fantastic service provided by the staff. Leigh, my personal tutor, was very quick to answer any queries about the course. Clive also did a fantastic job improving my CV. He also made weekly phone calls throughout the recruitment process to check in on my progress and was able to secure me a job role within a matter of weeks.

I secured a role as an Application Support Analyst with Firefly Learning which I couldn’t be happier with. I am constantly learning and developing my IT knowledge every day and working for a fantastic company with a great team. My job role consists of troubleshooting various issues our clients are having which provides a great sense of satisfaction being able to solve issues on my own and assisting people. This is a company I hope to work with for many years and this couldn’t have happened without the help of IT career Switch.
