Why did you start the traineeship?

After being put on Furlough by my previous employer in the transport industry I was told I was at risk of redundancy due to the COVID crisis. I decided to look for a career with long term employability prospects, which is where I found IT Career Switch.

What did you enjoy most?

I enjoyed that the course was self-paced, so I could work as many hours as I wanted. I also found the labs useful, as the main body of the course is very theoretical it was great to get a hands-on approach, given I had very little prior experience.

What's your current role like?

My new role is busy, with a lot of vendors and program-specific information to take in but the team I work with is great. It is expanding rapidly and everyone is willing to help, even when that help is via Skype with work from home being in effect.
