Why did you start the Coding Traineeship?

After many years working in sales, I decided that I wanted to pursue my dream of becoming a software developer. It was something I had wanted to do for many years but wasn’t sure it was something that I was able to do while working full time. I had spent quite some time looking around at various courses and even completed a few short courses. When I came across the course from IT career switch I quickly realised it was the perfect fit, allowing me to continue working while having a very well-structured course to follow in the evening.

What did you enjoy most?

The course was very well structured and seemed to follow a very logical path which allowed you to quite quickly build on your skills and experience and then apply them to small projects. There were plenty of other people undertaking the same course and had an active chat room for people to discuss their progress.

What's your current role like?

Within about 6 weeks of completing the course, I was able to land my first job as a software developer. Working as a PHP developer for a company that works with CRM systems while also being involved in many IOT projects has been a very steep learning curve. It has been great to use the skills I developed through completing the course and don’t think I will ever look back.
