Ben Wilson moved into Project Management Officer

I started the traineeship because I wanted to get into working in an IT environment with other like-minded people and thought Project Management would be a good fit for my current skill set with plenty of challenges, and opportunities and most all be something I enjoyed with future career prospects.

The part I enjoyed the most about the traineeship was using all the skills I had learnt across the different subcourses to then transfer that into use in the practical assignments and seeing all my knowledge come together to produce a piece of work I was proud of.

My current role is a Project Management Office role and I am loving it so far. It is not just restricted to that though I am being exposed to aspects of normal project management and business analysis so I am learning a great deal. Mainly my role is to provide governance, reporting and discipline to the team around me so our projects run smoothly and achieve what they set out to whilst providing support where it is needed.
