Why did you start the Coding Traineeship?

After working in the lab for several years, I wanted to explore a different sector. A career in IT has always been something I considered, but I didn’t have the necessary skills to break into it, especially in such a competitive market.

What did you enjoy most?

I enjoyed doing the final two practical projects. It allowed me to consolidate the things I have learnt, and it was satisfying to see two functional projects at the end of it. The mentorship provided was invaluable, as it also allowed me to learn new things and see challenges from a different perspective.

What's your current role like?

I am currently working as a Product Analyst. One of my primary roles is database maintenance, and it is satisfying to see the Python and SQL skills which I have gained with IT Career Switch being put to use. Furthermore, the Traineeship has given me the confidence to try out new ideas, and some of those ideas have been successfully implemented. Learning never stops, and I am thankful to now have a foundation to build upon.
