Zak Sullivan
Job Before: Unemployed
Job Now: Junior Field Engineer @ The Goodwood Group
Why did you start the Traineeship?
When the UK went into its first lockdown, I was studying for my IT and Computer Science A-Levels. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to finish them which left me feeling a bit lost, however, I decided that my next step should be to find a job in IT. When looking for a job in IT, what was being described in job descriptions made me feel quite out of my depth. That’s when I came across the IT Career Switch and the traineeship that they offer. I was sceptical at first, however, I can genuinely say that it’s worth the money and time if you want to feel more confident in your knowledge and make your CV look much more appetizing.
What did you enjoy most about the Traineeship?
I found the Network+ course very interesting. There’s a wide variety of stuff that the course offers so there’s bound to be something for everyone! The practice labs experience was very valuable, I wish I spent more time on that.
What's your current role like?
I currently work at a very high profile events company as a Junior Field Engineer and I am absolutely loving it! No day is the same. I travel around Goodwood supporting all the staff there. Part of the job is preparing for Goodwood events which can get very chaotic but I’m extremely excited about it!
