Traineeship overview

You will have 1-year of unlimited online access to complete the Traineeship.

The training program is broken down into 3 easy steps:

Step 1
Courses + internal exam

Here you will complete a carefully selected bundle of project management courses designed to give you a thorough understanding of a wide range of topics. The training is delivered via multimedia-rich video tutorials, presentations and quizzes, through an online portal that you study from home.

You can log into the portal at any time, meaning this can be completed around any full-time job. The emphasis of Step 1 is to learn all of the theory before beginning practical training.

At the end of Step 1, you will sit a short online multiple-choice exam to showcase your understanding of the courses before moving onto Step 2.

Step 2
Projects

Now that you have learned all the theory it’s time to start applying that into practice so that you have the required experience to start within the industry. You will be issued with two real-world projects to complete with one focusing on the Prince2 methodology and the other on the Agile methodology.

You will be provided with a  framework and structure for each project so that you have the necessary guidance to successfully complete your projects which will later be added to your CV.

Step 3
Official Exams

At this final stage, we will prepare you to take your official Prince2 & Agile Foundation exams. The exams can be taken at one of the approved test centers across the UK or online conveniently from your own home.

Prince2 and Agile are the two most prominent Project management methodologies in the UK so having them added to your CV will be desirable for employers from all industries.

Course outline

Below you can find the description of each course that you will be studying in step 1 of the Traineeship. The wide variety of PM related methodologies and best practices is what gives our students the well-rounded knowledge needed to become job-ready.

AgilePM™ Foundation

Agile projects are characterised by highly self-empowered teams delivering products incrementally, focusing on the early delivery of tangible benefits to the business. Unlike more traditional approaches, agile projects fix time, cost and quality at the early phases of the project and manage contingency by developing a clear view of priorities in collaboration with the business.

Based on the proven fundamentals within DSDM, the AgilePM certification lives up to its name by providing users of the method with the core agile principles needed to facilitate a successful project whilst allowing a degree of scope and agility that not many other methodologies provide.

  • The underpinning philosophy and principles of Agile
  • The lifecycle of an Agile project, including alternative configurations
  • The products produced during an Agile project and their purpose
  • The techniques used and their benefits and limitations
  • The roles and responsibilities within an Agile project.
PRINCE2® Foundation

PRINCE2 is a project management method widely adopted around the world*, used by people and organizations from wide-ranging industries and sectors.

It is a flexible method that guides you through the essentials for managing successful projects, regardless of type or scale. Built upon seven principles, themes and processes, PRINCE2 can be tailored to meet your specific requirements.

  • Understand key concepts relating to projects and PRINCE2
  • Understand how the PRINCE2 principles underpin the PRINCE2 method
  • Understand the PRINCE2 themes and how they are applied throughout the project
  • Understand the PRINCE2 processes and how they are carried out throughout the project
Business Analysis Foundation

Business Analysis is a process of identifying opportunities and risks to a project or business and finding solutions to any challenges that may be present.

Qualified Business Analysts are in high demand, and for good reason; they can make all the difference to the success and security of business operations. Knowing where to look is the first step in analysing business opportunities and risks successfully. Then, you’ll need to know how to store and share any valuable information. Finally, you’ll need to turn information into a solution that benefits the business in tangible ways.

  • The role and competencies of a Business Analyst

By Six Sigma standards, a right process is one that creates and delivers precisely what the customer needs. By this logic, no Six Sigma effort can start without having a high-level picture of an organization’s customers and other stakeholders, their needs, and the business processes meant to fulfil those needs. A thorough analysis of the existing business processes and the products and services they churn out is the first step in Six Sigma projects. You need to listen to the voice of the customer to find out what customers need, identify opportunities for change and improvement, and translate customer needs into goals and customer deliverables.

In this course, learners will examine how to analyse process components and stakeholders in an organization. They will also learn about concepts and tools for collecting and analysing customer information and feedback.

  • Become a key stakeholder in leading and implementing Lean Six Sigma projects in your organisation
  • Describe how to identify an improvement project in the define phase
