Why did you start the Traineeship?
I started the traineeship because I wanted to cement my career in IT as I’ve been a contractor for six years. Sometimes I did jobs outside of my field just to make ends meet.

So, I decided its time to be in a firm position and that’s where IT Career Switch came in. I researched IT courses and noticed they had promising reviews besides having online lessons which made things more comfortable studying at home as opposed to in person.

What did you enjoy most about the Traineeship?
It was the live labs, I found it interesting as it was interactive and made me feel like I’m taking small stepping stones to the reality of everyday life in an IT Career. So, I applaud IT Career Switch for making this a mandatory feature of the traineeship.
What's your current role like?
My current role is slightly like my last role before this except there’s a higher demand for tickets/tasks, there are more guides on troubleshooting tickets on the company homepage which is quite helpful and luckily there are more colleagues in the office as there are a team of six excluding me and more abroad.

A few of the tasks include fixing issues remotely via MS Teams or Dameware, removing users from AD groups once they’ve left, amending people’s OOO via Exchange Admin Center, updating driver issues via Dell Software Support UK, dismantling faulty monitors and replacing faulty Dell docks in place for fresh versions amongst many other tasks.

P.S. I’m forever grateful for IT Career Switch in opening the door to my career as it is my first permanent job.
