Why did you start the Traineeship?
I was looking for a career change after leaving my last role. I had always been interested in becoming a programmer and this was one of the best available options to be able to pursue this full-time or part-time, and I enjoyed the flexibility this offered. Also, the course guaranteed a job outside of the programme, so it was a win-win, learn a skill and get a job right away.
What did you enjoy most about the Traineeship?
I enjoyed first getting the tools to start playing around with some code and the Codecademy courses.
What's your current role like?
I work as a Web Developer for ERP Software. I have learnt already an incredible amount of practical developer skills you only learn in a professional environment and building on my backend skills. The job is remote and has been great to be on board with, there were already some members of the team that had gone through the IT Career Switch course, so they were familiar with my background and skill set.
