Why did you start the Traineeship?
The reason why I started this traineeship was due to my passion for I.T that I had always had. I had always been fascinated by how technology was and has been growing, which made me think to myself that I would want to be a part of any new upcoming ideas that would be brought into our generation. After reviewing IT Career Switch I realised that this was the traineeship for me and after the months of revising and exams, it was worth it as this has started my IT journey.
What did you enjoy most about the Traineeship?
I enjoyed most the different types of video modules that were taught. I liked the fact that it was done visually instead of just a big blog of text, so as I am learning and taking in the information I am also watching how things are done like the physical aspects of teaching me how to replace a RAM.
What's your current role like?
My current role is IT engineer for Claranet. My day-to-day job role includes the observing and handling of software and hardware products. The usage of Azure, Endpoint, Entra, Teams, printers and scanners makes sure any problems that occur troubleshooting and fixing the problem. Rebuilding and wiping laptops, changing them from hybrid or legacy devices to native. I really enjoy my role and I’ve learnt so much in such a short time, the team I am surrounded by are very professional, and friendly and has made me feel so welcome. I look forward to growing further and further within my IT Journey.
