Why did you start the Traineeship?
I have always wanted to work in the computing industry, IT and/or Cyber Security but I wasn’t quite sure how to approach it. I was just casually browsing for opportunities like apprenticeships or similar roles but it was very difficult, but as I found the IT Career Switch website I was really excited, considering how the whole program is structured.
What did you enjoy most about the Traineeship?
Learning all the different things and not just basic subjects like what parts you find in a computer but more in-depth knowledge and hearing it from people who actually worked in the industry made it very exciting, especially with hands-on experiences they told me about.
What's your current role like?
Since I had to work full time it wasn’t the easiest since I wanted to finish the course as quickly as I could but even if I was working at night I completed the course and only after 4 weeks after finishing my last exam now I get to work as a Service Desk Specialist, being part of a global company and an amazing team. The entry-level job I have received came with training and they were and still are patient with me, allowing me to learn everything at the company at my pace.
