Kristof Czegledi

Job Before: Housekeeping Porter

Job Now:  Apprentice IT Support Officer @ Barchester Healthcare

Jamie-Rao

Course:  IT Technician Traineeship
Placement Date: July 2022

Why did you start the Traineeship?
I have always had a passion for IT from a very young age and I have managed to collect a few certificates in the past, but when I moved to the UK I quickly realised that I can’t use my foreign certificates here and I needed British / international certificates. I was looking for a traineeship that would allow me to continue working in a full-time job while I can study in my free time. Once I found the IT Technician Traineeship on your site I knew that this would fit me perfectly and I did get in touch as soon as I was ready to start.
What did you enjoy most about the Traineeship?
It was hands down the fact that I could progress whenever I had some free time, whether it was during my lunch break, before or after work, on my holiday etc. I have had a very inconsistent and all-over-the-place rota at my previous work and the fact that I was free to study whenever I wanted/had time was a big relief. I would also like to mention that the video courses were very entertaining and informative.
What's your current role like?
I am an Apprentice IT Support Officer at Barchester Healthcare and I really enjoy it so far. There is a lot to learn as most of the knowledge the job requires can’t necessarily be learned from books or videos, but the traineeship did a great job preparing me for the regular Support Technician jobs that I carry out on a day-to-day basis.

I would like to thank again everyone who has been helping me throughout this traineeship from start to finish, I have really enjoyed it. I might even be back in a few years’ time as I’m really interested in both the Networking and Security Traineeships as well.
