Why did you start the Traineeship?
From a young age, I have enjoyed fixing broken things and resolving all sorts of issues, hence why I have leant to IT Support. I found the IT Career Switch during the lockdown which was convenient as I had time to sit down and study. I enjoy learning but in an interactive way which the traineeship provides.
What did you enjoy most about the Traineeship?
I enjoyed how flexible it is with studying. You can log in whenever and learn at your own pace. I had a really good experience with the live lab exercises. It was perfect in solidifying the knowledge I gained during my studies. It gave me the ability to try something first-hand which really assisted me in learning fast.
What's your current role like?
I am currently a 1st Line Support Engineer, which involves a number of issues in fast pace environment with opportunities to learn new and improve existing skills. My job involves triaging new support tickets from clients, either solving the issue myself or escalating it to people with relevant experience. I do a lot of basic troubleshooting, such as printers, laptops setup along with accounts and documents.
