Why did you start the Traineeship?
I have been working in the healthcare sector for a long time now and I started to feel choked with the shift patterns and long hours plus there are really not many things to explore, which leaves you stuck at certain wages for a long time. I wanted a career where I could easily work from home with a lot of opportunities to advance at my own pace. I got informed about IT Career Switch and I instantly made the decision due to the way the customer service person took the time to explain everything to me and the optimism he immensely demonstrated.
What did you enjoy most about the Traineeship?
The selected modules were properly tailored to my needs and arranged in a way that allowed me to have a strong grasp of the contents. The time allocated was more than sufficient to go through the assigned modules plus my personal tutor was always supportive and ready to assist whenever I needed him to shed light on the envisaged grey areas. Overall I enjoyed the journey and looking back, I could not have asked for a better way to delve into the IT world.
What's your current role like?
I currently work as an IT field Engineer with every day presenting its own challenges. This is the most important part of my job as I get to learn new troubleshooting concepts almost on a daily basis. The opportunity to install, configure and troubleshoot different IT devices is something I never thought was possible but thanks to IT Career Switch I can now seamlessly do those and also provide little training and support to onsite workers on the use of the available technologies.
