Why did you start the Traineeship?
I have always enjoyed playing around with gadgets and resolving all sorts of issues and that’s why I’ve always had IT on my mind. I just thought that it was too late to get into it now, as going back to university wasn’t an option. Thanks to the traineeship, I managed to study and pass my exams while working full-time.
What did you enjoy most about the Traineeship?
One of the best things about the course is the flexibility you have with studying. You can log in whenever you have a spare moment and learn at your own pace. What helps, even more, is that the vast knowledge base is broken down into many chapters and you can re-watch the videos as many times as you need. Also, if you are unsure about something you can always reach out to the IT Career Switch team and they will be happy to help.
What's your current role like?
My current role is 1st Line Support Engineer. I am part of a team that deals with all sorts of customer issues in a very high paced environment with plenty of opportunities to develop, grow and expand my IT knowledge. I am now looking forward to completing the Cyber Security side of my course while getting hands-on experience.
