Daniel Ratcliffe IT Career Switch
Course: Coding Traineeship
Placement Date: March 2022
Why did you start the Traineeship?
I started the traineeship because I wanted to refocus my career on something that better suited my interests and personality. Iโ€™ve always been a stickler for detail and liked the thought of being able to bring an idea to life, so I decided web development would be a good fit for me. For what I was after, I found IT Career Switch provided the most comprehensive package at the best price.
What did you enjoy most about the Traineeship?
I liked having a good, easy-to-follow structure, but my favourite part of the traineeship was building the portfolio projects and the portfolio site itself. Completing these enforced what had been taught, provided a huge learning experience, and was by far the most rewarding part of the traineeship.
What's your current role like?
My current role involves building transformative digital experiences for Burnley Collegeโ€™s four progressive brands, allowing me to regularly tap into my strong drive and passion for digital, technology and user experience. Alongside developing and maintaining the website, I work with the marketing team whereby I am able to influence and implement web decisions for various campaigns that vast numbers of both potential and returning students interact with.
