Why did you start the Traineeship?
I started the traineeship because I was not feeling fulfilled in my current career in logistics, and I always had a keen interest in IT and technology.
What did you enjoy most about the Traineeship?
The thing I enjoyed most was the amount of knowledge I gained from the course, especially the A+ course, I feel like it gave me the necessary groundwork to understand all the basics of IT and devices and generally how things work.
What's your current role like?
My current role is a technical support advisor working in a NOC (Network Operations Centre) my job is very varied from day to day, but generally, I assist a vast array of customers from Dominos branches to very small businesses manage their internet connections, which can have a plethora of reasons why their connection is not good/not working, we work with BT and Talk Talk to send engineers to fix lines, help end users perform checks and things like that.
I also have a data centre at our office so I perform backups with tapes and have to do regular data centre checks, every day is different so far and I’m really enjoying it and I’m very grateful I found out about this course!
