Jamie-Rao

Course:  Health and Safety Traineeship
Placement Date: May 2023

Why did you start the Traineeship?
I once thought I must need a shift in order to have better professional prospects and I knew I had promise. I wasn’t satisfied with what I was doing. Despite my enthusiasm for health and safety, prior to learning about IT Career Switch, I had no idea how or where I could successfully enter the area. I gained more courage to take on new challenges because the traineeship course outlined a very straightforward path to achieving my professional objective.
What did you enjoy most about the Traineeship?
I vividly recall the straightforward advice I received when I first called the course advisor at IT: “Get the training programme done, and we will support you through, once complete you will have the job you wanted.” Simple but really effective sound, backed by a promise of a refund if failed to offer one. Made me feel the return on investment is a great career opportunity. Since I first applied for the programme, I have always had assistance around me without having to make a second attempt to get in touch with a professional advisor. Again, I had to put her name down ‘Jasmine’ it was endless support without asking.
What's your current role like?
Working as an environment, health, and safety manager for a multinational corporation with a positive work environment prove that I made the right choice. I’m enjoying my duties as safety manager for UK operations and have already made a few pals who are really helpful. Academic expertise was immediately put to use. Making safety policies in high-risk workplaces is something I enjoy doing.
