Why did you start the Traineeship?
I chose to begin the Traineeship because the management career I was in was already at its end. I wanted to pursue a career with a lifetime of challenges and progression, fortunately, computing had already been an interest of mine.
What did you enjoy most about the Traineeship?
The transition has been smooth despite the actual work dramatically changing. This is largely due to my new team placing trust in my knowledge, ability and experience to make the right decisions. I owe this to the courses I’ve studied and to achieving the CYSA+ certification.
What's your current role like?
I love my new position now I can focus fully on Cyber Security. I currently work with vulnerability management and advising on security matters with other teams, although that will develop in time. Even though I’ve been on this journey for two years, I feel like it has only just started.
