Nick Molloy-Evans IT Career Switch
Course: Cyber Security Traineeship
Placement Date: June 2025
Why did you start the Traineeship?
I had lost my passion for my career at the time. Fundraising is a job that constantly requires you to he the one reaching out and asking people for things. I wanted a career that meant people were coming to me for my expertise. IT Career Switch looked like a good starting point.
What did you enjoy most about the Traineeship?
I got to learn a little bit about a lot of topics. Nothing felt overwhelming, and it was all comprehensively explained. It gave me a solid foundation and provided enough new information to inform my future career decisions in IT.
What's your current role like?
My new role is excellent, I’m getting to put into practice a lot of what I’d learned in theory, like being allowed to drive after passing your driving test. My new colleagues have called me a ‘ringer’ as they feel I know a lot for someone who has just started in IT.
